PICTURES: Bideford celebrates Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee

Thousands of people turned out to mark the Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this bank holiday in Bideford.

On Thursday, June 2, Bideford was a hive activity. In the morning the Mayor’s procession made its way through Bideford to Victoria Park before a proclamation from the mayor in Jubilee Square.

The fun really began when Bideford Fair was officially opened and the welly wanging, tugs o’war, dog shows and live music got into full swing.

Bideford’s Beacon was lit by the mayor and a piper played ‘Diu Regnare’.

An incredible two-part set from local band Soul Intention bookended a fantastic firework display.
