Picture special: Barnstaple Race for Life

Pink-clad entrants take part in the annual fund raiser to fight cancer.

AT least 1,500 women turned out this morning (Sunday) to take part in the annual Cancer Research UK Race for Life in Barnstaple.

The event, supported by Heart FM, invites ladies to wear pink and join the fight against cancer by taking part in the sponsored five kilometre run, walk or jog.

Heavy rain meant the route had to be changed yesterday, as the riverside route had become waterlogged, but that did not deter the many who turned out in pink tracksuits, running gear and of course plenty of fancy dress.
