Petroc jumping through hoops with dominant victory

Petroc basketball played their first game since October and showed no sign of rustiness in defeating Truro 93-29.  Â

Injuries and illness meant that Petroc only had a team of six but produced a quality performance that thrilled coach Charlie Smith, he said: “It was an athletic and exciting take on playing basketball. “We saw the confidence rising in players who have had a long wait to get a competitive fixture".  Â

Man of the match Jake Mcelfatrick powered to an impressive 30 points scored and was ably backed up by Samatee Tocknell and Drew Remi who lit up the outside shots, scoring 15 and 18 points respectively, with Finn Mead showing his potential chipping in 12 points and adding a dimension to the attacking play.  Â

Point guard Toby Ferrer and center Archie Cockbain both pushed the ball with speed and power from baseline to baseline, working towards an excellent start to 2022 for Petroc.Â
