PETER Rigler led home 190 runners for his second successive victory in the annual Three Bridges charity run organised by Barnstaple Lions Club.

The event enabled individuals and teams to raise sponsorship for their own causes and for Lions charities. Early indications are that the event will have raised more than 1,000.

The three-and-a-quarter mile run was started in Rock Park by the sounding of a cannon, set off by the Mayor of Barnstaple Cllr Ian Roome, with the aid of Barnstaple Sea Cadets.

Runners set off from Rock Park on a course which took them across Barnstaple's Yeo Bridge, Taw Bridge and Long Bridge before finishing back in the park.
