A further 13 Covid patients have died at Devon's hospitals â€“ as the UK recorded more than 100,000 daily cases for the first time since the pandemic began.Â
One death at North Devon DistrictÂ Hospital on DecemberÂ 18Â was included in the latest county death toll.Â
New data from NHS EnglandÂ has revealed that there wereÂ alsoÂ two new deathsÂ at Exeterâ€™s RD&EÂ Hospital, four at Torbay and six at Derriford in Plymouth.Â
A total ofÂ 353 peopleÂ haveÂ nowÂ died at the RD&E from the virus, 180 at Torbay,Â 132 at North DevonÂ andÂ 324 at Derriford.Â
Daily figures showed that 106,122 Covid cases haveÂ been reported in the last 24-hour period â€“ 13,000 more than the previous high on December 17.Â
Another 140 Covid-related deaths have also been recorded.Â
