North Devon fire fighters tackle second gorse blaze
A second North Devon gorse fire is being tackled by fire crews on land at Mortehoe, as colleagues in Lynton finish putting out a three square mile blaze.
Just before 1pm today (Monday) the Woolacombe fire crew ere called to reports of a small fire only to discover 250 metres of gorse was well alight.
They reported electricity poles were also involved in the blaze and a further fire appliance from Ilfracombe plus another from Appledore – which had been on standby at the Ilfracombe station – were called in to assist.
