Nomads win cracking derby

BIDEFORD Nomads won a cracking derby at Torrington, defeating the Legends 19-15 in a bruising, forward-orientated encounter.

The hosts were leading 15-12 with moments remaining and camped in the Nomads’ 22. But the visitors broke free and with some excellent handling and strong running took the game back the full length of the pitch, with Toby Richards touching down under the posts.

Shaun Woodhead rounded off a commanding performance at scrum-half with the conversion, having scored an earlier try and conversion to add to the touch down from flying wing Lee Faux.

The backs combined well with limited possession, their hosts dominating the set pieces and dictating the pace of the game for long periods.
