Kindergarten pupils at Kingsley School in Bideford went down on the farm to learn all about combines, tractors and horses. They visited the arable farm of Perry and Sara George near Weare Giffard and were given a VIP tour followed by cakes in the farmhouse kitchen. Their son Rupert is one of the pupils. The children were delighted to see the big tractors and had a go at sitting in the cabs. They also saw a plough working the fields and met the farm dog. The farm visit followed studies on the topic of seeds and growing things. Elaine Henry, the kindergarten manager, said the hands-on experience for the children brought their topic to life as well as being a great morning out of the classroom!
