A SECTION of the coast path at Lynmouth has been reconstructed in a parish project by local young people.Glen Barment, Nicola Davey, Rebecca Wilds, Joy Eastman and Melissa Bartlett of the Somerset Rural Youth Project have carried out the work with support from Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund.Exmoor National Park Authority and Somerset Rural Youth Project invited the parishes of Exmoor to identify small, practical projects which would help to enrich their communities. Working with these organisations, the young people cleared the badly overgrown path and rebuilt steps. Residents and tourists in Lynmouth have been impressed by the completed work and the young people have learned new skills. The workers were given certificates and fleeces as a reward for their efforts. Phil Cookson, Exmoor National Park Authority's Sustainable Development manager, said: "The central objective of the Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund is to engage young people in improving and learning about Exmoor's environments and so the enthusiasm shown by these young Exmoor people is fantastic and a testament to the partnership work between the Rural Youth Project, Parish Councils and the National Park Authority.
