Young basketball fans leap into action

When Barnstaple youngsters Kiera and Cameron Osment wanted new play equipment at Rock Park in Barnstaple, they decided to write to their local council

TWO young basketball fans in Barnstaple have helped make a difference to the play facilities in Rock Park after issuing a plea to the Town Council.

Kiera and Cameron Osment wrote to Barnstaple Town Council asking for a basketball hoop they and their friends could use.

Until now if they wanted to “shoot hoops” they had to rely on their mum taking them to Victoria Park in Bideford.

But the Rock Park Trust management committee, which manages the park on behalf of the council, heard their plea and installed the new hoop near the kiosk and play area for people of all ages to use.
