NORTH Devon grandparents have been given planning permission to build a tree house in the back garden of their Yelland home.
Joanne and Jim Bell were told they needed to submit detailed scale drawings and pay 150 to submit an official householder application in order to obtain the necessary permission.
They did so with the help of Bude-based architectural design company, R A Rowe & Co, who kindly offered to draw up the plans free of charge after reading the couple's story in the Gazette.
After considering the application, submitted in March this year, council officers concluded that there were "no grounds to justify its refusal".
