Yelland home owners have taken to the streets to spruce up the area.

A group of Yelland residents have taken to the street verges to bring a taste of spring to the area.

It is all part of an effort to pick up the slack after Devon County Council cut its grass verge cutting funding.

The group has also been out in force to plant daffodils along the B3233.

Green-fingered volunteer Joanne Bell said: “We want to encourage people to get up and do things themselves without the county council.

“It doesn’t take much and once it’s done it will take very little maintenance and help to create more wildflower meadows.”
