THOUSANDS of young people and their families will descend on Barnstaple tomorrow (Sunday) for a sporting event with a real 'X' factor.

The hotly-anticipated Devon Games to Inspire will feature more than 1,400 young athletes from schools around Devon.

And while youngsters from North Devon - dressed in sky blue - will compete in 15 different disciplines against eight teams from across the county, there's also a star-studded line-up of musical entertainment.

Event organisers and hosts North Devon Council have arranged an all-day festival-style line-up of eight local bands on a large stage on the sports pitches behind the Tarka Tennis Centre.
