Would you like to be an Ilfracombe councillor?

PEOPLE in Ilfracombe have been invited to help make a difference in their community by standing for election to the Town Council on Thursday, May 5.

Anyone aged 18 and over who thinks they might have what it takes to become a councillor are invited to collect a nomination form from the Ilfracombe centre or the Civic Centre in Barnstaple.

Town clerk Pauline Williams said the council was providing more opportunities than ever before for residents to make a difference, by “thinking outside the box” and seeking to take charge of its own destiny with a variety of innovative ideas and initiatives.

“Closing date for nominations is April 4 and people really can make a difference by pushing for things within their community,” she said.

“Their voices can be heard by influencing all manner of things, such as the annual council tax precept for example.”
