Work on 77 new homes in Landkey will begin this spring.

Devonshire Homes's Mazzard View development will include a mixture of two-to-five bedroom properties.

After gaining planning permission back in March 2016, Devonshire Homes are hoping to start development at the end of May.

Devonshire Homes chairman Daniel Stephenson said: "We look forward to delivering high quality homes at Mazzard View, that are stylish, practical and sympathetic to their locality.

"We have now received detailed planning permission for the site and are busy putting in place our plans to begin construction this Spring.

"We will initially open a temporary Marketing Suite followed by a show home before the end of the year and prospective homeowners can visit our website to register their interest now."

The development will bring contributions of £429,391 for education; £200,000 for bus services and £125,000 towards improvements to the A361 junction and the develoment of a multi-use games area.

It will also include 35 per cent affordable housing.

The Planning Inspectorate gave the green light to development at Mazzard View in March 2016 following a refusal from North Devon Council in July 2015.
