Woman ‘fell’ into A39 near Bideford

Police closed the Barnstaple-bound carriageway so woman could be taken to hospital this afternoon (Wednesday).

Police closed the A39 between Bideford and Barnstaple for a short time this afternoon (Wednesday) after a woman ‘fell’ into the carriageway.

The 30-year-old reportedly tripped at a layby on the east-bound carriageway.

Police directed traffic from the carriageway while an ambulance took the woman to North Devon District Hospital.
