Emergency services called to collision just after 4pm

A woman had to be cut free from a car by fire fighters after a head on collision on the North Devon Link Road this afternoon (Sunday).

The fire service said police, fire and ambulance responded to the crash, which it said happened between Landkey and West Buckland and involved two vehicles.

Two people had managed to get out of the cars, but a woman remained trapped.

After about an hour she was freed and along with the other casualties left in the hands of the ambulance service.

The road was closed both ways for about two hours.

* It happened at around the same time as another road traffic collision by the A361 Bishops Tawton roundabout, which was still closed at around 7pm.
