NORTH Devon police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic accident and alleged assault at Whitefield Hill in Muddiford last Thursday (Jan 14).
A white van travelling down the hill clipped wing mirrors with a silver/gold coloured Mercedes van or people carrier travelling up the hill.
It is alleged that the driver of the Mercedes got out, approached the male driver of the white Western Power van and, after a brief discussion, punched him in the chest, before driving off.
A blue BMW was travelling behind the white van and the driver may have seen the incident. This driver or anyone with any information is requested to ring the police on 08452 777444 quoting crime reference CN/10/13 or contact the confidential CrimeStoppers line on 0800 555111.
