Witnesses sought after Combe Martin smash

Man seriously injured after his car careered off the road in Combe Martin on New Years Eve

A man has been left with serious injuries after his car careered off the road at Combe Martin on New Years Eve and ended up on its roof in a field.

The collision took place on the A399 near Combe Martin Wildlife Park at around 5pm on Friday and police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.

They said the driver of the Audi convertible suffered serious injuries including numerous fractures and was treated at the scene before being taken to the North Devon District Hospital by HM Coastguard. His injuries were “not deemed to be life threatening or changing,” they said.

A front seat passenger escaped with minor injuries.
