Police are appealing to find a potential witness to an alleged armed robbery at the village stores in Landkey on Saturday.

The incident was reported to have happened at Lyncroft Stores, Blakeshill Road, Landkey at around 6.20pm.

It was alleged three men entered the store in possession of two firearms and made threats to staff.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe could be a potential witness to the incident.

Detective Inspector Phil Gray, of Barnstaple CID, said: "On Saturday evening, three men with their faces partially covered, entered Lyncoft Stores in possession of firearms.

"They threatened the staff and left the scene in possession of a quantity of Euros and stamps.

"No one was injured as a result of the incident.

"They are believed to have been travelling in a silver vehicle and left in general direction of the Castle Inn pub.

"We believe that other people were in the area of the store, and in the store itself, in the minutes leading up to the incident.

"I'm keen to identify and speak to the man pictured as a potential witness.

"He was in the store shortly before the robbery, and I believe he may have information vital to the investigation.

"I'd urge anyone who was in the area at the time, anyone who saw the men or vehicle in the Landkey area at the time and anyone who recognises the man pictured, to come forward and speak to us."

The police investigation is ongoing at this time.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/008213/19.
