Parts of historic World War Two fighter station up for sale on June 17

The former RAF tower and fighter station at Winkleigh is going up for auction together with part of the former Winkleigh Aerodrome.

The historic look-out and its 9.5 acres of land at Winkleigh is being offered by auctioneers Clive Emson on June 17 at St Mellion in Cornwall

Available with a freehold guide price of £35,000 to £50,000, the tower and land at Winkleigh Airfield were part of a night fighter station during the Second World War.

Also being sold is a plot of land which formed a part of Winkleigh Aerodrome.

The largely level parcel originally extended to 22.3 acres (9 hectares) out of which a number of small sections have been sold.

It has a freehold guide of £15,000 to £30,000 and offers potential for storage, recreational use or alternative schemes subject to the necessary consents
