A small army of new collectors has helped the local Battle of Britain Wings Appeal raise almost £1,800.Roy Lucas, chairman of the Royal Air Forces Association Barnstaple and North Devon branch, thanked all those who had happily submitted to aching feet and tired limbs to rattle their collection tins, many of whom came forward following an appeal in the North Devon Gazette.Chairman Roy Lucas thanked all those who had taken part, including North Devon Air Training Corps officers and cadets.See the Gazette next week for the full story.
