THE Westcountry Game Fair, the first of the great regional game fairs in the calendar, is set to visit the Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet on March 15 and 16 - and the Gazette is offering a competition to win free family tickets for this popular event.Now in its 12th year, the event is billed as the ultimate countryside experience and regularly attracts thousands of visitors who are passionate about the rural way of life. It is one of the first opportunities in the year for like-minded people to come together to celebrate this special and diverse way of life.Shooting activities are a popular aspect of the event and there is a wide variety of shooting events and advice available at this year's show.These include a clay shoot by Purbeck Shooting, a new "Make a Break" shooting game from America, shotgun coaches from the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, National Target Sports Association air rifle and pistol ranges and advice and tuition on air rifles by internationally renowned Kevin Jackman.Dogs are an important element of living and working in the country and they are also well represented.
