Willow men cause a stir at West Buckland

Curious figures take residence on school’s picnic benches

WEST Buckland pupils have twigged a couple of curious new arrivals at the school.

Two large willow men have recently taken residence on the school’s picnic benches and are causing a stir due to their apparent ability to switch tables in the middle of the night.

The lifelike sculptures were created as part of an art project collaboration between Year 11 GCSE students and children from Prep 6.

Pupils were inspired by a visit to Broomhill Sculpture Gardens and worked on the figurative willow artwork in a workshop with local artist Tom Hyde.
