Conservative leader of the Commons William Hague enjoyed a rather damp visit to North Devon this morning (Thursday). Mr Hague braved the rain to visit Barnstaples Anchorwood Bank site. The former party leader and foreign secretary was invited by Conservative parliamentary candidate Peter Heaton-Jones to visit North Devons biggest redevelopment project in a generation. During his visit, much anticipated announcements were made by the developers - but they havent given away everything yet. People across Barnstaple are dying to know what big names could be announced for the site. Mr Hague was told the Oliver buildings will be turned into a Boutique Hotel - to be run by an as-yet unnamed well known local hotellier. He was also told some large restaurants will be named by developers soon - hopefully in April. You can view our photogallery of the latest Anchorwood Bank developments here.
