‘Pose with a nose’ for Wetnose Day this weekend and help raise money for animal rescue charities

North Devon is being urged to join in with the region's first ever Wetnose Day this Friday.

Maureen Hobbs is hoping to introduce the event for animal rescue charities to North Devon and is urging as many people as possible to support it or 'pose with a nose' between Friday and Sunday (September 29 to October 1).

The animal equivalent of Red Noise Day is organised by Wetnose Animal Aid and black noses are available from the website below.

Maureen has sent in a picture posing with her faithful friend and collie cross Charlie, who is now 15-and-a-half years old.

She said: "My late husband always used to say 'when will there be a special 'nose for animals day' and he would be so thrilled about this."

Argyll Veterinary Centres at Roundswell, Braunton and Ilfracombe are supporting the appeal this year and can accept donations.

Celebrities supporting the appeal include Chris Packham, Sir Paul McCartney and Paul O'Grady.
