Rob Braddick says bookings for 2016 are up on last year as he completes £800,000 investment in new caravans in Westward Ho! park.
The tourist season is looking bright for 2016, according to one business owner.
Rob Braddick, of Braddicks Holiday Centre, is putting in the finishing touches to 22 brand new caravans in Westward Ho!
The £800,000 investment includes revamping the caravans at the Merley Road site, including eight along the seafront.
And next year the park will be investing another £1million into building 10 new luxury, three-bedroom, two-storey chalets.
Mr Braddick said: “These will offer something a bit more luxury, and will look right out over Lundy.”
It comes after the success of last summer and bookings are already flooding in for the season ahead.
Mr Braddick said: “Westward Ho! is looking a lot nicer; there is loads to do, lots of good restaurants, and it’s looking smart.
“If we have any money to invest we are certainly doing it here rather than Bideford.
“Last year, Braddicks had the best year we’ve ever had in all of our premises in Westward Ho!
“And so far this year bookings are up 28 per cent on this time last year.
“We’re also pretty much fully booked for weddings at the Pier House for this year.”
The new caravans at the holiday park are set to open for February half term.
