WEST Buckland School is also celebrating an outstanding set of results. As 99.1 per cent of students gained an A Level pass, with 71 per cent getting A* to B grades and 14 per cent of all A Levels were passed at A*.

Oliver Hu gained three A*s and will read Mathematics at Exeter College, Oxford, along with Rolf Merchant who having achieved an A* and two As, will read History at Worcester College, Oxford. Amelie Karlsson will be going to Emmanuel College, Cambridge, to read Natural Sciences, with two A*s and one A. Other students who achieved two A* grades include Ben Bennett, Emma Friend, Tom Harris, Amelie Karlsson, Poppy Pinnock, Will Treanor and Joe Wong.

Headmaster John Vick said, "These grades are the product of an enormous amount of hard work by highly motivated and enterprising students inspired by some extremely committed teachers.

"With so much additional pressure on students this year, I am thrilled to see that almost everyone has achieved the target grades and is able to take their places at university.
