ON Friday, April 25, the Children's Hospice South West is urging people to pay a pound wear their wellies - whatever the weather! The second annual Wear Your Wellies Day will take place on Friday, April 25 to mark the first anniversary of the official opening of second hospice at Charlton Farm, near Bristol. The hospice hopes to make a big fund-raising splash this year. Pupils at Pyworthy School are taking part for a second year, and a mayoral wellie parade has been planned in Holsworthy. "Wear your wellies to school, work, in the car, or in the bath and feel proud that you are helping to support children and families across the South West," said hospice fundraising projects co-ordinator Ian Roome. The hospice has some great tips on how to decorate your wellies and is urging people to send in pictures of their embellished boots.Readers can also download their own Wear Your Wellies poster to help encourage friends, families and colleagues to take part, by visiting the hospice website www.chsw.org.uk and clicking on the annual events page. For more information, telephone Ian Roome at the hospice on (01271) 325270 or email:ian.roome@chsw.org.uk
