WENDY Humphreys' wedding is six months away - and her chosen wedding dress is five sizes too small! But the 41-year-old Barnstaple bride-to-be is determined that, when the big day comes, her dress will fit perfectly and fiance Sean Phillips, 36, will be as proud as can be when she walks down the aisle at Shirwell Church. The challenge for Wendy to shed the pounds and drop from her present dress size 32 to the size 24 bought for her by her mum, Norma Snow, is one she is sharing with the nation.Wendy last week appeared on GMTV in a show which looked into the issues of losing weight. After many previous attempts at losing weight Wendy is determined that her wedding will be the biggest incentive of all. So much so, that when she fell in love with a wedding dress five sizes too small, her mum bought it anyway. The television company, which is following Wendy's story, has put her in contact with a nutritionist to help with her diet. And Sean, health club manager at the Barnstaple Hotel, is playing his part with an exercise routine for Wendy. He knows the problems well, having himself dropped from 23 stones to 15 stones after taking up boxing for two years. Part of Wendy's problem has been a back injury, sustained just over a year ago. She was formerly a care worker, but has not been able to work since and has had reduced mobility."I have not been able to lose weight because you need a combination of diet and exercise," said Wendy. "With the New Year coming I started to panic and then saw the GMTV programme, so texted in for advice. I have spoken with their nutritionist and am now on a low carbohydrate diet, eating more proteins and vegetables.
