A WAVE of shoppers swept into the new M and S Outlet store when it opened its doors for the first time at the Atlantic Village shopping centre in Bideford (yesterday) Thursday.First in the queue Glenys Sewell of Ford and Fairy Cross was rewarded for her two-and-a-half hour wait with the presentation of discount vouchers.The opening was performed by the Mayor of Bideford, Mrs Caroline Church, who cut a red ribbon across the doors.The store, she said, provided valuable jobs for local people as well as a place for the community to shop.Twenty-five people are now employed there.It is the second new outlet to have opened at Atlantic Village in two weeks, following the arrival of Yeomans outdoor and leisure store, and is already proving a catalyst to attracting interest from other major retailers.(Full story in next week's Gazette).
