Waterfront business to re-open in Appledore

AN Appledore waterfront business which has been closed for a year is being re-opened in a joint venture by two local business people who are well known in the village.

The distinctive pink venue The Quay will soon be opening its doors again as a daytime licensed caf/bistro and a night time restaurant thanks toSteve Lock and Beth Spencer-Mollington.

Steve is a familiar face in the village as a member of the Appledore Pilot Gig Club and is also known for his previous businesses across the water at Instow - The Wayfarer and, by co-incidence, The Quay. He also formerly ran the Cranford Inn outside Torrington.

Beth has previously run two well-known Appledore venues, The Champion of Wales and The Seagate Hotel.

In partnership they are renting the The Quay premises from its management company and plan to launch their new business to coincide with the Appledore Book festival, which runs from September 24- October 2.
