UMBERLEIGH Village Hall will be buzzing with local arts and crafts when it hosts the village's first ever Christmas bazaar this Sunday. (November 30)Top Devon artists, craftsmen, growers and producers will be offering a wide range of items suitable for Christmas gifts or for the home. The event will showcase ceramics, paintings and prints by artists Roger and Ros Cockram, as well as paintings by Colin Allbrook, Tim Saunders and Tony Williams, and Sgraffito art by Crediton-based artist Charlotte Turner.Other crafts include stained glass, wooden items, exquisite handmade knitwear bags, textiles and embroideries. And with plants, homemade preserves, exotic dried fruits and beautifully decorated cakes, the bazaar promises something for everyone. If browsing stalls sounds like thirsty work, visitors will be able to sample some top quality locally produced wines by Bray Valley Wines or relax with an aroma manicure by Chi-Mind, Body and Spirit. Organiser Pat Shallcross said the village hall committee had been very lucky in getting some of the area's top artists to come to Umberleigh on the day. "I am so excited and confident that it will be a success, I'm already thinking about planning another Umberleigh Bazaar event in the spring," she said."A true Umberleigh welcome awaits you, with teas and homemade mince pies available throughout the day from 10am-4pm."For more details about the event and the artists, contact Stella Levy at stella@widgerystudios.co.uk
