THE popular Loxhore village panto is back - after 'resting' for four years.Members of previous casts, together with new and younger people, will stage Jack and the Beans Talk at the village hall in November and December. Written and directed by Di Savill, the pantomime has given the players a great deal of fun on practice nights, with Jack (Bridget Briggs) and Jill (Trish Briars), Bluebell the Cow (Geoff Briggs and Mike Matthews), Magis Beans, the Giant and his Wife, and many more characters. The first Loxhore panto, Dick Twitington, was staged in 2000 in the hope of raising funds towards refurbishing the village hall and building on a new kitchen. It was the brainchild of village resident Sue Brodie and was such a success that it had to be repeated early the following year.Cinderella and Toad in a Hole followed at two-yearly intervals - and with the run extended from two nights to a week - but, when Sue moved away from Loxhore, it seemed that the show was over. Then Di, who had been a key to the music in previous shows, delighted the village by proposing her own creation: Jack and the Beans Talk. Di and the company have worked hard for six months to bring the show to the village hall stage. A matinee on November 30 at 2.30pm will be followed by evening performances nightly, from Tuesday, December 2 until Saturday, December 6 inclusive at 7.30pm. Tickets (£6; children under 12, £3) available by calling Priscilla on (01271) 850610. Seats should be reserved as early as possible. Oh yes they should!
