THE popular Clinton Arms, behind the village green at Frithelstock, near Torrington, has recently changed hands. It was sold through licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter, on behalf of Wendy Kent. The new owner is Ian Robertson.Ian's son Pete and his fiancee Debi will run the business as both are experienced in the licensed and catering trade. Ian has a property renovation company and plans to improve and restore the buildings.Pete and Debbie have introduced a new menu and extended times food is available. Ian hopes to refurbish a small annex for extra dining space. The inn also has letting accommodation, popular with anglers, as they have fishing rights close by on the River Torridge. There is also owners' accommodation.The freehold of the detached period two storey property was sold by Stonesmith off an asking price of £450,000.
