The cute and comical video shows pupils getting stuck in to Cinderella-inspired dance routine.

A primary school is hoping to go viral with its Strictly Come Dancing-inspired video.

West Down Primary School donned the glitz and glam of the ballroom and learnt some special steps to create the video.

They uploaded it to their YouTube channel on Thursday, and have since had more than 1,100 views.

The idea was that of Faye Poynter, who has taught at the school for nine years.

She said: "Teaching is my first love but I always wanted to be a dancer and I have recently got back into it again.

"The dance used the Cinderella story and the children absolutely loved taking part.

"Every morning we dance in the playground so the children only took about an hour to learn the steps for this."

Faye said the video has received fantastic feedback from the other teachers and parents too.

She said: "We are hoping that it might go viral - but you never know with these things.

"It was just a really nice thing to do and I hope people will watch it and share it."
