Genteel ride out is back again on April 16
The cyclists of Velo Vintage felt so welcome in Barnstaple that they are returning to the town on Saturday, April 16.
It is an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy the pleasures of a bygone age, cycling and conversing in genteel style as they make their way from the town centre to Fremington.
The first event in Barnstaple last year proved hugely popular and featured a wide range of vintage bicycles including penny farthings, tandems and tricycles.
Alistair Cope founder and owner of Devon based Velo Ventures, which runs the event, said: “Barnstaple Town Council and the whole community made all of us feel so very welcome.
“The riders love to talk and show their bicycles and it has to be said that everyone makes such an effort to dress up for the occasion.”
Riders are asked riders to dress in a traditional manner, with a theme from the 1920s to 1950s.
The group will set off from the museum at 11am. To take part, go to www.velovintage.co.uk
