Fire fighters called out to A39 to help rescue woman in overturned van.

A van was involved in a collision when it overturned over a hedge off the A39 at Higher Clovelly.

Fire engines from Hartland and Bideford, as well as a heavy rescue vehicle from Exeter, were called out at 6.15pm on Sunday.

On arrival they found a woman in the van, but she was not trapped.

Fire fighters made the vehicle safe to allow her to exit the van.

She was then checked over by paramedics before being taken to North Devon District Hospital.
