Fire service received several reports of van ablaze in public car park

A fire which left a van severely damaged in Ilfracombe is being investigated.

Firefighters were called out to a public car park in Slade Valley Road at 5.48 this morning (Wednesday May 22) after several reports of the vehicle on fire.

They found it well alight and extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet.

The cause of the fire is not clear at this stage.
