Friday morning’s ‘Real Rescues’ to show incredible story

The incredible story of the team who saved an Umberleigh woman during the floods last Christmas is to feature on the BBC’s ‘Real Rescues’ on Friday.

The programme, which will be broadcast on BBC1 at 11am, will feature the RNLI, fire crews and police involved in rescuing Vanessa Glover on December 23 last year.

After clinging to a branch in fast-flowing water for almost an hour, South Molton mum Vanessa was saved in a daring operation under extremely dangerous conditions by three members of the RNLI’s Flood Rescue Team.

Paul Eastment, Chris Missen and Martin Blaker-Rowe all received the RNLI Bronze Medal for Galantry for their actions.
