THE Tyrrell Hospital League of Friends AGM is on Tuesday, April 8 and all are invited to hear about how work is progressing to make a stay in Ilfracombe as pleasant as possible.Vice-chairman Albert Furber said the League was planning to spend around £50,000 this year to improve comfort and privacy for patients."There's no day room at the moment and we have been working to get it back," he said."A number of alterations need to be made but the League is paying the bill for the refurbishment, plus there will be alterations to the reception and treatment areas, allowing segregated cubicles."The meeting is at 7pm and will be held at the hospital and all are welcome.The League of Friends is also seeking new members to join its committee as well those who might be able to provide a little time to help in the hospital shop as stand-in cover.Anyone who can spare a few hours is welcome to attend the AGM on April 8 or alternatively telephone Mr Furber on (01271) 863035.
