Rush hour traffic experienced delays yesterday (Tuesday) after two collisions on the A39 near Bideford and Clovelly.

There were two collisions on the A39 near Bideford last night (Wednesday).

The first crash occurred near Heywood Roundabout at around 4pm involving a Toyota Yaris and a Peugeot RCZ.

Police said an 'elderly' man was taken to Bideford minor injuries unit.

Both vehicles were registered to Bideford addresses and the roaad was cleared by 6.45pm.

The second collision occurred at 4.20pm, also on the A39, by Clovelly Cross.

A Land Rover Freelander came off the carriageway and was in a 'precarious' position on a bank.

Police said a female driver and male passenger were taken to hospital.

The extent of their injuries are not known and the road was clear by 7.35pm.
