Two calls on Torridge firefighters

TORRIDGE firefighters were called out twice today (Friday) to incidents in Dolton and Bideford.

Shortly after 9am crews from Torrington, Hatherleigh and Chulmleigh answered a call to fire in the kitchen of Dolton Village Hall.

They found that there had been a small fire involving an oven. The fire was out and they removed the oven into the open air.

At 12.30pm a fire crew from Bideford went to the car park at the Morrisons store to attend a report of a car on fire.

The fire involved wiring in the vehicle and firefighters use a hose reel, small tools and two sets of breathing apparatus to deal with the incident.
