NORTH Devon Hospice is encouraging people to tuck into the most important meal of the day - and help out one of the region's most important charities at the same time. From March 27 to 29, families, friends, schools, clubs, colleges and businesses are all being invited to put on special breakfast spreads in aid of the Barnstaple hospice.Hospice Big Breakfasts are being arranged throughout North Devon, with events already taking place in Barnstaple, Torrington, and at Shirwell Community Primary School and at Pilton Bluecoat School. There's even a two-day breakfast marathon taking place in the Valley of the Rocks at Lynton!Hospice "Breakfast Team" member, Emma Lowe, said there was still plenty of time for anyone wanting to organise their own event to do so.She said: "It be as simple or as complicated as you wish - the choice of menu is yours. "Your Big Breakfast can be a small affair at home for a few friends and family, or you can team up with friends and host a breakfast in your village hall or other suitable location."If you can host or organise your own event then we'd be delighted to have you on board and will provide you with posters invites or help in what ever way we can."If cooking is not your thing then you could support our hospice by attending a breakfast being held by a local business. Kicking off the event a week early on March 21 will be Trimstone Manor Hotel and Country Club, while on March 28, Barum Gate Table Table in Barnstaple will be serving up a 5 "all-you-can-eat" treat between 9 and 11am. The hospice itself will also be inviting staff, patients and anyone in our community to stop by for breakfast between 8 and 10am on March 27."If you've never been to the hospice before then the 'Breakfast Team' would be delighted to warmly welcome you," said Emma. For more information on running your own "Big Breakfast" contact the "Breakfast Team" at the hospice on (01271) 344248 or email fundraising@northdevonhospice.org.ukhelp To let people know about your event, download a Big Breakfast form from the events page at the hospice website, www.northdevonhospice.org.uk
