Councillor Ann Mounce, who served on the council between 1999 and 2007, has died aged 77.

Tributes have been paid to a former Torridge District Councillor who has died.

Ann Mounce was a Torridge councillor from 1999-2007 and was active member on many committees.

She died on October 14, aged 77.

Council leader Jane Whittaker said: “I was so sad to hear the news about Ann.

“She was unstinting in her support of local activities.

“I always knew she was a very hard working councillor and was hugely respected throughout her ward and indeed within the wider Torridge area.”

Deputy leader Cllr James Morrish added: “Ann Mounce was hard working, sound and loyal, particularly to her local constituents in Northam, and to Torridge as a whole.

“I was proud to have worked with her and she will be missed.”

In her memory the council’s flag at Riverbank House flew at half mast last week.
