Tributes have been paid to a former Torridge District Councillor who has died. Ann Mounce was a Torridge councillor from 1999-2007 and was active member on many committees. She died on October 14, aged 77. Council leader Jane Whittaker said: I was so sad to hear the news about Ann. She was unstinting in her support of local activities. I always knew she was a very hard working councillor and was hugely respected throughout her ward and indeed within the wider Torridge area. Deputy leader Cllr James Morrish added: Ann Mounce was hard working, sound and loyal, particularly to her local constituents in Northam, and to Torridge as a whole. I was proud to have worked with her and she will be missed. In her memory the councils flag at Riverbank House flew at half mast last week.
