A special ceremony is being held at Barnstaple Rotary Gardens this afternoon (Friday) to remember Hamish Patrick.

A special tree planting ceremony is being held today (Friday) in memory of the Green Man Festival organisers.

An oak tree will be planted in the Rotary Gardens in Pilton in memory of Hamish Patrick, who died in December 2014.

The tree planting ceremony has been organised by the organisers of the Green Man Festival and North Devon Council.

Anyone is invited to attend the ceremony which starts at 5pm.

Councillor Mair Manuel, said: "Hamish was central to the incorporation of Rotary Gardens into the Pilton Festival and for years masterminded the use of Rotary Gardens on the day.

"Pilton and Bradiford residents, as well as the wider festival community, are indebted to him and this is a fitting and living memorial."

The oak tree has been provided by the festival organisers to be planted in the garden to replace one that was recently felled.
