Petroc catering students showed off their culinary skills at annual cooking competition.

Petroc's top catering students battled before a panel of judges to be crowned chef of the year.

The annual event was open to students on all food-related courses.

Jake Hatch was the level three and overall winner, and Jacqui Mock won for level two.

Head judge Mark Dodson, of the Masons Arms in Knowstone, said: "The competition was of a very high standard this year and it was a really tough call."

The contest was judged by Mark alongside Hugh Judd from the Organisation for the English Beef and Sheep Industry (EBLEX) and Nigel Yeo from event partners Philip Dennis Foodservice.
