Traditional May Day celebrations will take place across Torrington tomorrow.

Torrington's May Fair celebrations take place tomorrow (Thursday) with traditional dancing and entertainment.

May queen Neve Cox, 11, will be officially crowned at midday in Torrington Square.

Celebrations begin at 9am and include maypole dancing and the ever-anticipated, top secret Torrington Cavaliers act at 11.40am.

Richard Rumbold, May Fair chairman, said: "We are celebrating a tradition which can be traced back to 1220 and continues to this day."

The Round the Tree race takes place at 6.45pm on Friday - registration from 6pm - and on Saturday the town's annual carnival will parade through the streets from 6pm.
