Two cars crash on same spot in separate incidents near Beaford.
Police say that mud on the road was reported as being a ‘contributing factor’ in two near-identical collisions on the A3124 near Beaford on Saturday afternoon.
BMW drivers travelling towards Torrington both reported hitting mud patches before crashing.
A 5 Series rolled off the road and into a hedge at around 12.15pm.
There were no injuries but the occupants, two adults and three children, attended North Devon District Hospital as a precaution.
Then at 3.30pm, a 3 Series skidded off the same section of road and hit a post.
The 19-year-old driver and three young passengers reported minor bruising caused by seatbelts.
Last week, the Gazette reported that there had been a 24 per cent increase in collisions near Torrington where mud had been recorded as a contributing factor.
