Pupils at Torrington Bluecoats Primary School celebrated their good Ofsted report.

Great Torrington Bluecoats Primary School has been awarded as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ elements by Ofsted.

The latest report is an improvement on the school’s 2011 inspection, where they received a ‘good’ rating, with some ‘satisfactory’ elements.

Leadership of the school was highly praised and it was recognised that a strong partnership between governors and staff has ensured a rapid improvement of standards.

The behaviour of pupils was described as ‘exemplary’, with pupils recognised as having a very strong desire to learn.

Headteacher Angela Fleming said: “This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire school community in ensuring that the transition to become a primary school has been a success.”
